Nutrition Month celebration of barangay Duacan in Kabayan, Benguet

Benguet Governor Dr. Melchor Daguines Diclas reiterates the importance of ensuring the right nutrients for babies in their first 1000 days in building a brighter future for them during the simple Nutrition Month celebration of barangay Duacan in Kabayan, Benguet on July 29, 2021.

Governor Diclas also expressed his appreciation to all the barangay health workers for their continued effort in implementing programs and activities for the health of the people in the community.

Meanwhile, Governor Diclas also reminded the attendees of the said program to always adhere to the minimum public health standards to stay safe from CoVID-19, and to get vaccinated when vaccines are available.

Further, he also reminded the people to strictly implement the 4S strategy against dengue as dengue cases continue to rise in the province. He shared the importance of cleaning the surroundings, wearing long sleeves and long pants, using mosquito repellant, and to consult the doctor when dengue fever symptoms occur.

Turnover Ceremony for the newly constructed Children In Conflict with the Law and Violation Against Women and their Children (CICL & VAWC)

Governor Dr. Melchor Daguines Diclas leads the turnover ceremony for the newly constructed Children In Conflict with the Law and Violation Against Women and their Children (CICL & VAWC) Building in Duacan, Kabayan, Benguet on July 29, 2021.

The project which was funded by the Provincial Local Government of Benguet will serve as a venue for counseling children in conflict with the law and to campaign against VAWC.

Turnover Ceremony of Ansagan Barangay Hall

Governor Dr. Melchor Daguines Diclas, Mayor Clarita Sal-ongan, and Vice Mayor Maria Carantes lead the blessing and turnover ceremony for the recently completed Ansagan Barangay Hall in sitio Piminggan, Ansagan, Tuba, Benguet on July 28, 2021.

The different phases of the project were funded by the Provincial Government of Benguet, Municipal Government of Tuba, and Philex Mining Corporation

School of Living Tradition

Governor Dr. Melchor Daguines Diclas congratulated some 42 Benguet Enhanced School of Living Traditions Year III learners on their graduation day at the Ben Palispis Hall, Capitol Building, La Trinidad, Benguet on July 23, 2021.

Three different trainings were conducted by the Provincial LGU of Benguet through the Provincial Tourism Office headed by Provincial Tourism Operations Officer Eleazar Carias in partnership with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts: the Sebeng Making held on December 14, 2020 to January 15, 2021; the Kiniing/Kinuday/Ginnulay Making conducted on April 27 to May 28, 2021; and the Loom Weaving conducted on May 27 to June 11, 2021.

Governor Diclas encouraged the graduates to apply and share with others what they have learned during the trainings to preserve and promote the culture of the people of Benguet which is also the objective of the School of Living Tradition program.
