ARMY OFFICIAL HIGHLIGHTS 10TH ANNIVERSARY OF WEST PH SEA ARBITRAL RULINGLTC Jojo L. Mascariñas, Commanding Officer of the 5th Civil-Military Operations Battalion, Civil-Military Operations Regiment, Philippine Army, highlighted the 10th anniversary of the 2016 Arbitral Ruling on the West Philippine Sea during the flag-raising ceremony at the Benguet Provincial Capitol on Monday, July 13.Mascariñas said the landmark decision reaffirmed the sovereign rights of the Philippines under international law and emphasized the importance of maintaining a rules-based international order.He called on government officials, employees, security forces, and the public to uphold the rule of law, protect the maritime domain of the country, and preserve peace for present and future generations.Mascariñas said the milestone also reaffirmed the duty of the Philippine Army to protect the Filipino people, uphold the sovereign rights of the country, and strengthen territorial defense.He added that every mission and accomplishment of the Philippine Army reflects the professionalism, discipline, and commitment of soldiers to safeguarding national interests.Mascariñas urged the public to renew their commitment to the theme, “Our Seas, Our Rights, Our Future,” by supporting international law, protecting the maritime domain, and promoting peace and stability.Governor Dr. Melchor Daguines Diclas expressed support for the call to uphold the sovereign rights of the Philippines and protect the national interest, and thanked Mascariñas and the Philippine Army for their continued service. ...
