The Provincial Government of Benguet headed by Governor Dr. Melchor Daguines Diclas (Melchor Diclas) through the Office of the Provincial SWDO Ms. Juana Bannawe delivered three cavans of rice and a box of canned goods to Banangan, Sablan, Benguet for the families evacuated to Mating Mang-osan Elementary School due to monsoon rains.
With the presence of the delta variant in the country, Governor Dr. Melchor Daguines Diclas issued an advisory requiring non-Benguet residents (visitors entering Benguet) to present a negative RT-PCR result or vaccination card reflecting the card owner is fully-vaccinated against CoVID-19 at border checkpoints.Governor Diclas in the advisory also reiterated the strict implementation of health protocols in the province to avoid further transmission of the CoVID-19 virus.Further, to ensure the safety of the public, CoVID-19 patients, whether symptomatic or asymptomatic, are required to complete their isolation in a TTMF.As the province continues its fight against the pandemic, Governor Diclas is reminding the public to keep working together by adhering to all the health protocols to avoid contracting the virus, and by getting vaccinated once vaccines become available.
Some 39, 357 individuals in the Province of Benguet are fully vaccinated against CoVID-19 as of August 2, 2021 based on the report from the Provincial Health Office.
Meanwhile, there are still 9,878 individuals awaiting their second dose of the vaccine. Of the number of vaccinated individuals, only 1% have reported to have experienced the side effects of the vaccine. Governor Dr. Melchor Daguines Diclas is reminding the public to register for vaccination and get vaccinated to finally achieve herd immunity. Governor Diclas also thanked all the provincial, municipal, and barangay vaccination teams who continue to brave all the challenges to implement the vaccination program of the government, as well as the vaccinees who have shown care for others by getting jabbed.
P10M HOSPITAL BUILDING BREAKS GROUND IN KAPANGAN. Governor Dr. Melchor Daguines Diclas led the ground-breaking ceremony for the construction of the New Kapangan District Hospital (KDH) (Phase I) in Central, Kapangan, Benguet on July 30, 2021.
Governor Diclas said the construction of the hospital building will be helpful especially that KDH also caters people from nearby municipalities.
He also committed funding of the next phases of the project until its completion as health is one of his major agenda.
Further, Governor Diclas thanked all the barangay and municipal officials and all other offices concerned for the successful preparation of the said project.
Meanwhile, Dr. Maria Imelda Ulep, Provincial Health Coordinator for District Hospitals, thanked Governor Diclas and all other officials for their continued support for health through such projects.
Benguet Governor Dr. Melchor Daguines Diclas reiterates the importance of ensuring the right nutrients for babies in their first 1000 days in building a brighter future for them during the simple Nutrition Month celebration of barangay Duacan in Kabayan, Benguet on July 29, 2021.
Governor Diclas also expressed his appreciation to all the barangay health workers for their continued effort in implementing programs and activities for the health of the people in the community.
Meanwhile, Governor Diclas also reminded the attendees of the said program to always adhere to the minimum public health standards to stay safe from CoVID-19, and to get vaccinated when vaccines are available.
Further, he also reminded the people to strictly implement the 4S strategy against dengue as dengue cases continue to rise in the province. He shared the importance of cleaning the surroundings, wearing long sleeves and long pants, using mosquito repellant, and to consult the doctor when dengue fever symptoms occur.

The project which was funded by the Provincial Local Government of Benguet will serve as a venue for counseling children in conflict with the law and to campaign against VAWC.
