IMPROVEMENT OF J204 BEKES-LUSONG FMR COMPLETED

Governor Dr. Melchor Daguines Diclas said the Improvement of J204 Bekes-Lusong Farm-to-Market Road project in Buyacaoan, Buguias, Benguet has been completed and is ready to serve the farmers in the said locality.

The P1 million project started in May 2021 and was completed in June 2021.This is among the road development projects for which Governor Diclas allocated funds as part of his HEALTHIER Benguet agenda.

The 170-meter road will benefit almost 300 farmers in the said barangay and other nearby localities who deliver various kinds of highland vegetables to different markets.

Farmers in the benefitting community produce cabbage, onion leeks, carrots, potatoes, and cut flowers among others.

Governor Diclas said more road development projects will be implemented in the province to provide farmers easy access to the market especially that agriculture is one of the major industries in Benguet.

Driven by its mission: Ensure Improvement of Quality of Life in Benguet, the Province of Benguet obtained a human development index of 0.883 in 2009. The province of Benguet promises its constituents high age expectancy, accessible high caliber education and more than sufficient way of living. This, however, can't be achieved without the help of its people.

The cultural beliefs and innate characteristics of the people made it possible for them to strive and develop higher quality of life without destroying the cradle that they live in.
