Cordillera SIPAT PEACE TALKS 35th Anniversary

On September 13, 1986, the Cordillera People’s Liberation Army (CPLA), led by Fr. Conrado Balweg, heeded the call for peace by then President Corazon C. Aquino through the forging of a “sipat” or a peace agreement at the Mount Data Hotel in Bauko, Mountain Province. The Sipat Peacetalks led to the signing of Executive Order 220 and the Constitutional provision for an autonomous Cordillera.

The province of Benguet promises its constituents high age expectancy, accessible high caliber education and more than sufficient way of living.
