With the current surge of the Covid-19 virus in the Province and considering that all hospitals and quarantine facilities have already reached their maximum capacities, hereunder are strict policies to be implemented, in compliance with the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) Guidelines on General Community Quarantine (GCQ), and agreed during the Provincial Inter-Agency Task Force (PIATF) Meeting chaired by Governor Dr. Melchor Daguines Diclas held on September 14, 2021, to prevent the further transmission of the virus (effective until the end of September 2021):

BEGH Receives High-Flow Machines from DOH-CAR

With the overwhelming number of CoVID-19 patients admitted to the BeGH, Governor Dr.u00a0Melchor Daguines Diclasu00a0said the provision of the two high-flow machine therapy devices from DOH-CAR is a big help especially that more patients are experiencing severe symptoms of the CoVID-19 disease.The machines were turned over by Dr. Mercedes Calpito, DMO V at PDOHO, at the BeGH on September 15, 2021.

Cordillera SIPAT PEACE TALKS 35th Anniversary

On September 13, 1986, the Cordillera People’s Liberation Army (CPLA), led by Fr. Conrado Balweg, heeded the call for peace by then President Corazon C. Aquino through the forging of a “sipat” or a peace agreement at the Mount Data Hotel in Bauko, Mountain Province. The Sipat Peacetalks led to the signing of Executive Order 220 and the Constitutional provision for an autonomous Cordillera.

Benguet PLGU Donates Fruit & Veggie Processing Equipment

The Provincial Government of Benguet headed by Governor Dr. Melchor DaguinesDiclas has been actively supportive of the implementation of Technical-Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in the province.

Recently, Governor Diclas allotted almost P600K for the procurement of different fruit and vegetable processing equipment to help in the implementation of fruit and vegetable processing skills trainings in the different municipalities.

This program is part the HEALTHIER Benguet agenda of Governor Diclas under livelihood and education.

Meanwhile, the Benguet PLGU has recently been awarded the National Kabalikat Awards of TESDA for its significant contributions in promoting and strengthening TVET programs which aim at boosting employment opportunities for Filipinos.

Driven by its mission: Ensure Improvement of Quality of Life in Benguet, the Province of Benguet obtained a human development index of 0.883 in 2009. The province of Benguet promises its constituents high age expectancy, accessible high caliber education and more than sufficient way of living. This, however, can't be achieved without the help of its people.

The cultural beliefs and innate characteristics of the people made it possible for them to strive and develop higher quality of life without destroying the cradle that they live in.
