The Provincial Local Governments of Benguet and Northern Samar, led by Governor Dr. Melchor Daguines Diclas and Governor Edwin Marino C. Ongchuan, respectively, inked a Memorandum of Agreement for Sisterhood Project, formalizing the beginning of a partnership toward mutual growth, collaboration, and development.
The MOA signing was held at the Governor Ben Palispis Auditorium, Provincial Capitol, on Friday, March 14.
Governor Diclas stated that the sisterhood provides both provinces with unique opportunities to exchange valuable practices and ideas, fostering growth in various sectors. He also emphasized that through the collaboration, they can collectively bring greater benefits to the people and create lasting positive changes.
Meanwhile, Governor Ongchuan said that the MOA is more than just a document. He emphasized that it is testament to both provinces’ commitment to building bridges of friendship, strengthening economic and cultural ties and working together towards sustainable development.
In addition, Congressman Harris Christopher M. Ongchuan of the second district of Northern Samar, who was one of the witnesses to the signing, shared his hope for the partnership to flourish in the years to come, bringing forth remarkable opportunities to the people of both Provinces despite the geographical distance.
Also witnessing the signing were Hon. Clarence E. Dato, Vice Governor of Northern Samar, along with Board Members, Department heads, and employees of both Provinces.
A cultural exchange also took place with Governor Diclas and Board Member Marie Rose Fongwan-Kepes performing the Kuratsa of Northern Samar, while Governor Ongchuan, Congressman Ongchuan, and Vice Governor Dato danced the Tayaw of Benguet with their partners.
