We are deeply saddened by the passing of Board Member Florencio V. Bentrez.

To the family and friends of BM Bentrez, please accept our heartfelt condolences during this difficult time.

He was not just a dedicated leader but also a true brother in politics. His many years in service have very much contributed to betterment of our Province. His wisdom and kindness will be greatly missed by all of us who had the privilege of working with him.

Dake-dakel nga iyaman, manong board, iti amin nga advice ken inspirasyon mo kadakami nga ading mo iti public service, ken iti panagserbi ken panangipateg mo iti umili. You will forever be in our hearts.

HAPPY TILAPIA FESTIVAL!

Governor Dr. Melchor Daguines Diclas and Congressman Eric Go Yap joined the residents of Ambuklao, Bokod, as they celebrated the Tilapia Festival with the theme, Good Leadership, Relationship, Cooperation for a Better and Progressive Ambuklao.”

They were warmly welcomed by Ambuklao’s residents and officials, led by Barangay Captain Reynaldo Tello on Friday, March 14, at their Barangay Hall, Heritage Site Plaza.

SPES OFFERS TEMPORARY EMPLOYMENT FOR BENGUET STUDENTS

A total of 155 Benguet students signed Contracts with Governor Dr. Melchor Daguines Diclas for temporary employment through the Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES) at the Provincial Capitol, March 15.

The program implemented through the partnership between the Provincial Government of Benguet and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) aims to provide students from low-income families with employment opportunities for 30 days to help them finance their education.

The SPES beneficiaries will be assigned to the different offices in the PLGU, performing clerical, field, and other related tasks, while receiving a pay amounting to P18,450.00. Of this, 60% will be provided by the PLGU while 40% will be funded by DOLE.

Governor Diclas congratulated the students for being included in the program, encouraging them to approach their tasks with dedication and integrity. He also shared the different programs implemented by the Province for students and the youth.

Meanwhile, Senior Labor Employment Officer, Julie Tabcao led the program and provided employment coaching to the participating students, emphasizing the importance of professionalism, punctuality, and strong work ethics.

The first batch of the students is scheduled to work from April 21 to June 3, while the second and third batch will work from May 15 to June 27 and June 23 to August 4, respectively.

BENGUET, NORTHERN SAMAR LGUS INK SISTERHOOD MOA

The Provincial Local Governments of Benguet and Northern Samar, led by Governor Dr. Melchor Daguines Diclas and Governor Edwin Marino C. Ongchuan, respectively, inked a Memorandum of Agreement for Sisterhood Project, formalizing the beginning of a partnership toward mutual growth, collaboration, and development.

The MOA signing was held at the Governor Ben Palispis Auditorium, Provincial Capitol, on Friday, March 14.

Governor Diclas stated that the sisterhood provides both provinces with unique opportunities to exchange valuable practices and ideas, fostering growth in various sectors. He also emphasized that through the collaboration, they can collectively bring greater benefits to the people and create lasting positive changes.

Meanwhile, Governor Ongchuan said that the MOA is more than just a document. He emphasized that it is testament to both provinces’ commitment to building bridges of friendship, strengthening economic and cultural ties and working together towards sustainable development.

In addition, Congressman Harris Christopher M. Ongchuan of the second district of Northern Samar, who was one of the witnesses to the signing, shared his hope for the partnership to flourish in the years to come, bringing forth remarkable opportunities to the people of both Provinces despite the geographical distance.

Also witnessing the signing were Hon. Clarence E. Dato, Vice Governor of Northern Samar, along with Board Members, Department heads, and employees of both Provinces.

A cultural exchange also took place with Governor Diclas and Board Member Marie Rose Fongwan-Kepes performing the Kuratsa of Northern Samar, while Governor Ongchuan, Congressman Ongchuan, and Vice Governor Dato danced the Tayaw of Benguet with their partners.

WURTZBACH EMPOWERS YOUTH ADVOCATES IN BENGUET

Ms. Universe 2015 and Advocate, Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach, engaged with the Mr. and Ms. Benguet LAYAD (Leadership and Youth Advocacy Development) and other youth advocates in the Province, discussing impactful work in creating social changes through advocacies.

The dinner, “PIAN TAYO: A Celebration of Love for Advocay”, hosted by Governor Dr. Melchor Daguines Diclas, was held on Thursday, February 6, at the Provincial Capitol.

It focused on key causes like mental health awareness and HIV prevention, having emphasis on the importance of youth involvement in these efforts.

Also in attendance, expressing their messages in support of the advocacies towards greater cause, especially on HIV awareness, were Dr. Ronivin Pagtakhan, Executive Director of Love Yourself Inc. and Dr. Ryan C. Guinaran, Country Program Manager for AIDS Healthcare Foundation-Philippines.

HEALTHIER BENGUET CARAVAN TO SERVE KIBUNGAN RESIDENTS

 

The 14th leg of the HEALTHER Benguet Caravan, spearheaded by Governor Dr. Melchor Daguines Diclas, in partnership with Kibungan LGU, led by Mayor Cesar M. Molitas, is scheduled for February 20, Thursday, at the Kibungan Municipal Gym in Poblacion.

 

Governor Diclas is inviting all i-Kibungan to avail of the various medical-dental and other government services.
