Benguet PLGU Donates Fruit & Veggie Processing Equipment

The Provincial Government of Benguet headed by Governor Dr. Melchor DaguinesDiclas has been actively supportive of the implementation of Technical-Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in the province.

Recently, Governor Diclas allotted almost P600K for the procurement of different fruit and vegetable processing equipment to help in the implementation of fruit and vegetable processing skills trainings in the different municipalities.

This program is part the HEALTHIER Benguet agenda of Governor Diclas under livelihood and education.

Meanwhile, the Benguet PLGU has recently been awarded the National Kabalikat Awards of TESDA for its significant contributions in promoting and strengthening TVET programs which aim at boosting employment opportunities for Filipinos.

Driven by its mission: Ensure Improvement of Quality of Life in Benguet, the Province of Benguet obtained a human development index of 0.883 in 2009. The province of Benguet promises its constituents high age expectancy, accessible high caliber education and more than sufficient way of living. This, however, can't be achieved without the help of its people.

The cultural beliefs and innate characteristics of the people made it possible for them to strive and develop higher quality of life without destroying the cradle that they live in.
