Governor Dr. Melchor Daguines Diclas said the 1.5-kilometer improvement of Ekip farm-to-market road in Ekip, Bokod, Benguet has recently been completed. The P5.3-million project funded by the Provincial Government of Benguet headed by Gov. Diclas is now serving over 50 families whose livelihood mostly depend on agricultural farming. Ekip barangay captain and ABC President Hon. Francis Delfin said the improvement of the said road is definitely beneficial not only for the residents and farmers of Ekip but also for others who pass through the said area.

Delfin thanked Gov. Diclas for answering the plea of the locals with the allocation of funds for the said project. He said the governor earlier visited Ekip where he acknowledged the request of the residents concerning the improvement of the 1.5-kilometer road. Further, Delfin said the project trimmed off the travel time of farmers to the market from over three hours to only a couple of hours. Farmers in the said locality deliver tomatoes, cauliflowers, cabbage, and sayote to La Trinidad and Nueva Vizcaya.Residents said the road improvement does not only benefit farmers but also those who need medical attention now that the road is safer and travel time is shortened. The project which was completed last October is part of the HEALTHIER Benguet agenda of Gov. Diclas under infrastructure and agriculture. #HEALTHIERBenguet#UnitedBenguet
