The Provincial Government of Benguet headed by Governor Dr. Melchor Daguines Diclas has recently completed the construction of a two-storey school building for Alternative Learning System (ALS) in Puguis, La Trinidad.Governor Diclas said the provincial government allocated P3.2 million for the project in response to the needs of the community since the old one-storey classroom the community had been using was only made of light materials.

Driven by its mission: Ensure Improvement of Quality of Life in Benguet, the Province of Benguet obtained a human development index of 0.883 in 2009. The province of Benguet promises its constituents high age expectancy, accessible high caliber education and more than sufficient way of living. This, however, can't be achieved without the help of its people.

The cultural beliefs and innate characteristics of the people made it possible for them to strive and develop higher quality of life without destroying the cradle that they live in.
